With Liverpool tracking Anthony Gordon’s availability in a summer that could see two wingers sign, Barcelona have now reportedly tabled a £69.3 million bid.
That is according to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein, with the leading journalist reporting an official offer of €80 million (£69.3m) plus bonuses.
MARCA report that Gordon has already agreed terms with the Spanish champions, following a meeting with Barcelona sporting director Deco which led to the 25-year-old giving them “total priority.”
Why Liverpool are linked with Anthony Gordon again

However, that Liverpool have re-emerged with interest in the Scouser this week suggests there could be further twists in the tale as they monitor the situation.
The Times‘ Paul Joyce, the Telegraph‘s Dominic King and the Guardian‘s Andy Hunter all named Gordon as a potential target along with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola in a briefing on Monday.
While Diomande is viewed as the priority, there is a sense that Liverpool will sign more than one versatile attacker this summer following the departure of Mo Salah and long-term injury to Hugo Ekitike.

It also became apparent very quickly in the season just gone that the decision not to replace Luis Diaz, following his move to Bayern, was a costly mistake.
Gordon has “received offers” from clubs in the Premier League, according to Marca, which aligns with speculation over a number of talks with the winger’s representative this week beyond the meeting with Deco.
There is clearly no guarantee that Liverpool will even enter the race to sign Gordon but their presence in reports on his impending move from Newcastle makes it a possibility.

Some have even theorised that sporting director Richard Hughes could make a late move once the framework for an exit from St James’ Park is already in place.
That would mean Liverpool acting when they learn exactly what is required to strike a deal with Newcastle, who may otherwise prove difficult in negotiations given Alexander Isak‘s controversial move last summer.
Gordon was already set to move to Anfield in 2024 as part of a £75 million deal which would have seen Joe Gomez move the other way for £45 million.
That deal fell through and the forward went on to sign a new contract, with the season just gone seeing him score 17 goals in 46 games.
