Wesley Fofana is one talking point among Chelsea supporters right now following his performance in the club’s final game of the season.
Fofana was sent off in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Sunderland, which was his second red card of the campaign.
Things have not quite worked out for him since his arrival from Leicester City in 2022. Nevertheless, Fofana still wants to remain at Chelsea.
It is fair to say, though, that supporters would not be too disappointed if he decided to leave. In fact, that is probably a bit of an understatement.
Chelsea fans urge club to get rid of Wesley Fofana
Following his red card at the Stadium of Light, we asked Chelsea fans on TalkingPoints what the club should do with Fofana. For many, the answer was simple.
One Chelsea supporter said: “Get him out of the club, he is not up for any kind of fight whatsoever, the fans will never trust a player who shows no sign of allegiance with the club or fans and the sooner he is gone the better.”
Another urged the Blues to ditch him and Malo Gusto, saying: “He’s absolutely useless. Get rid of him and Gusto.”
One other TalkingPoints user also fumed at the French duo. They said: “Get rid of Fofana and Gusto.”
And another user does not want Chelsea to waste any time, telling the Club World Cup holders to offload Fofana now. “Get rid of Wesley Fofana immediately!”
It is quite brutal, but Chelsea supporters are extremely frustrated with the France international and the rest of the team, and it is easy to understand why.
After a promising start to the season, Chelsea have ended up finishing 10th. For many, it is simply unacceptable, especially after all the money that has been spent.

It will now be interesting to see what Xabi Alonso does with Fofana. When fit and on his day, the former Leicester City man can be quite a powerful defender.
Fofana has pace and is physically strong, but Chelsea fans rarely saw him dominate opponents during the 2025/26 campaign. And looking at the above, they have clearly run out of patience with him.
