Real Madrid will sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea on one condition

By now, it is pretty much an open secret that Enzo Fernandez would prefer to leave Chelsea this summer. But there is a difference between wanting something to happen and for conditions to be perfect for it to materialise. While the Blues are not unwilling to discuss a potential exit, it is starting to feel like the circumstances will prevent this move from materialising. Why do I think so?

Well, it is simple. Under the current circumstances, it is hard to imagine that any club would be willing to meet the asking price that Chelsea have seemingly set for the potential transfer of Fernandez this summer.

According to a report from Nizaar Kinsella of BBC Sport, Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea after the club failed to qualify for Europe. But the Blues will ask for £120 million to part ways with the Argentine World Cup winner.

Manchester City seem to have placed Elliot Anderson as their top target. PSG have downplayed the links. And Real Madrid might be willing to sign him only on one condition.

Real Madrid would sign Fernandez only on one condition

The report from BBC Sport goes on to state that Real Madrid are known to be unwilling to pay Chelsea’s asking price to sign Fernandez, unless they are able to raise significant funds in player transfer exits.

Of course, that is not completely outside the realms of possibility. Real Madrid also have quite a few players who could be on the move this summer.

What does the future hold for the likes of Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni, after what happened recently? Can those two continue to play on the same team together? Will one or both try to engineer an exit? Also, there have been suggestions that Eduardo Camavinga could leave.

So, Real Madrid have plenty of players in a position to leave. And if they do, that Fernandez transfer fee might not be a problem.

Do not rule Real Madrid meeting Chelsea asking price just yet

In recent years, we have not seen Real Madrid make a move of that magnitude. At least not on a consistent basis, like they used to at one point in time.

The last time Real Madrid made such a move, it was to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. Will they go to the same lengths for Fernandez?

To be honest, it is hard to say. They might, as he has been on their radar for a long, long time, going back to his days at Benfica.

Also, let’s not forget that Florentino Perez is under some pressure as well. So, he might be looking to make a statement signing this summer, which Fernandez would be.
