Chelsea had an extremely disappointing end to the season, but Levi Colwill was at least one positive.
Colwill made his long-awaited return from an ACL injury at the start of the month and did not disappoint.
Colwill was Chelsea’s best player on the pitch in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool and was also pretty solid in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
It looked like the defender was never out injured, but it certainly was a long road to recovery.

Levi Colwill was spending 13 hours at Cobham during rehabilitation
Colwill spent most of his time at Cobham during his rehabilitation. In fact, according to The Sun, at one point, the centre-back was spending 13 hours a day at Chelsea’s training facility.
The same outlet claims that people inside Chelsea were surprised by how seriously he took his rehabilitation.
It seems to have worked, though, with Colwill looking better than all of Chelsea’s other centre-halves after returning to the team.
Had he been available from the start of the campaign, perhaps Chelsea would not have finished 10th. Now it is all about finding a suitable centre-back partner for the England international next season.

Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Jorrel Hato, Tosin Adarabioyo, Mamadou Sarr, Benoit Badiashile and Josh Acheampong are the other centre-half options Chelsea currently have in their squad, which is a lot.
However, Chelsea could end up signing a new central defender to partner Colwill.
Whether Chelsea sign a new centre-back or not, there will have to be a few exits this summer. The likes of Adarabioyo, Sarr, Badiashile and Acheampong have seen very little game time this season.
Sarr and Acheampong could be loaned out, but you would expect Adarabioyo and Badiashile to be sold.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the centre-back position next term, but one thing is guaranteed: Colwill being a regular if he stays injury-free.
