Liverpool loan decision seen as transfer opportunity–Player could be‘temporary solution’

Juventus are growing desperate to sign Liverpool‘s Alisson but could now settle for Giorgi Mamardashvili.

SportWitness have covered how the Brazilian is keen on a move to Juve. He is seeking to reunite with Luciano Spalletti and an agreement over personal terms could already be in place between the two parties.

Liverpool’s stance was holding up the deal, as they are demaning around €20m for the keeper. Juve’s first offer has not been enough but they have been relying on the player’s intentions to secure an agreement.

At the same time, the Old Lady remain open to a possible alternative.

Mamardashvili could be a target

Gazzetta dello Sport claim Liverpool may not grant Alisson an exit this summer. This is because they aren’t entirely sure of Mamardashvili’s status as a first-choice and would much rather have Alisson start regularly.

That is why the Reds are considering loaning out the Georgia international in the summer. This would grant him a chance to develop well before succeeding Alisson for the 2027/28 campaign.

Failure to sign the Brazil international would be disappointing but Juve can then view Mamardashvili as a target. He is seen as someone who can start regularly for the Bianconeri and act as a ‘temporary solution’ too.

Once his loan ends, Juve can then proceed to sign Alisson in 2027. By then, his contract at Liverpool will have expired, making a deal easy for the Italian club.

Idea can suit Juve

While the idea is in the initial stages, it could make sense for all parties.

Alisson remains good enough to start for Liverpool and that could be a reason why he signed a new deal in March. He can easily offer more than Mamardashvili, even if the Georgian has done enough to command a starting spot himself.

But if Juve are handed a chance to sign the ex-Valencia man, they shouldn’t hesitate. He has now proven himself across two leagues and he can also make a mark in Italy.

A loan will not be expensive, considering Liverpool wouldn’t want to insert an option to buy. This way, Juve can save money this summer, fix the keeper issue and invest in other areas of the squad.

Arne Slot’s side would’ve to sign a back-up but that shouldn’t be difficult.
