Bellerin revealed why Mikel Arteta is a great manager.

Mikel Arteta’s current Arsenal side could etch their names into English footballing folklore forever if they overcome PSG in the Champions League final and win the double this season.

Only Manchester United and Manchester City have won both competitions in a single campaign and considering Mikel Arteta reckons Arsenal will beat PSG, Saturday could be a special day for the Gunners.

PSG are the favourites against Arsenal, which puts less pressure on the English giants to come out on top; a factor that could aid Arteta’s side.

Ahead of the much-anticipated clash in Budapest, Hector Bellerin sent a message to his former club.

Bellerin spent 11 years at Arsenal, joining the club as a teenager in 2011 before leaving on loan to Real Betis in 2021 before eventually joining Barcelona in 2022.

When the Spaniard was at the Emirates Stadium, winning the Premier League title and reaching a Champions League final seemed like a pipe dream for the club.

However, things have drastically changed for Arsenal since then, with Bellerin initially congratulating the North Londoners for winning the title via Real Betis’ official in-house media: “Hey Gunners, how are you doing? Well, first of all, congratulations. I’m so happy to see the club winning the league.”

Ahead of Arsenal’s clash against PSG in the Champions League final, Bellerin wished his former side the best of luck and looked forward to facing them in pre-season while hoping for a reunion in Europe next season.

“Good luck on the Champions League final. We’ll see you in pre-season and hopefully, why not see you next season in the Champions League?”

Hector Bellerin revealed why Mikel Arteta is a ‘great coach’

Having played alongside Mikel Arteta at Arsenal while also having been managed by him, Bellerin would perhaps be keen to see his fellow countryman beat PSG in the Champions League final.

Speaking to Sky Sports in 2023, the 31-year-old detailed why Arteta is a “great coach”, explaining: “Mikel is such a great coach. He’s been my teammate and he was great. He’s a wonderful coach and I’m glad they’re finding the way to play that the coach has always wanted. He’s found the right players and he’s found the support from the fans again.

Bellerin added: “He’s a coach that is always constantly learning and I think that’s what’s good about him. He’s able to adapt and learn from his mistakes. He’s able to become a new Arteta every season.”
