Another glamour pre-season friendly is on the the bill at Murrayfield this summer.
And two Premier League rivals are set to go head-to-head at the home of Scottish Rugby.
Newcastle will make the short trip north to take on Everton in the capital on Wednesday August 12 before the English top flight season begins a few days later.
Eddie Howe's men endured a disappointing campaign, finishing 12th int he table after qualifying for the Champions League the previous season.
Toffees boss Davie Moyes finished one place below the Magpies, a solid enough showing from the Merseyside outfit after flirting with relegation the previous year.
Scotland's Natan Patterson should be in contention to play after a likely extended break following this summer's World Cup Finals.
Murrayfield has become a regular venue for summer clashed between English and European clubs.
Liverpool hosted Serie A outfit Napoli back in 2019.
RivalsMan Utd took on Lyon in 2023 before taking on Rangers a year later.
“An exciting test against Premier League opposition at a historic venue like Murrayfield Stadium will play an important part in our pre -season preparations,” said Newcastle boss Eddie Howe.
“I’m sure our fans will bring a special atmosphere to Edinburgh for a fantastic summer away day, giving the players a massive lift as we build towards the new campaign.”
Moyes added: “Facing Newcastle United at Scottish Gas Murrayfield gives us a valuable opportunity to test ourselves against Premier League opposition as part of our preparations for the new season.

“Everton has always had a strong connection with Scotland, and we know how well our supporters travel, not just from Merseyside but from across the country.
“Edinburgh is a fantastic city and this fixture gives Evertonians the chance to come together, enjoy the occasion and get behind the team in what should be a really good day for everyone connected with the Club.”
