Liverpool player Luca Stephenson has said that he will be encouraging any Reds youngsters who are offered the chance to join Dundee United to jump at the chance to move there.
Stephenson has spent the last two seasons on loan at the Scottish club, establishing himself as a key player for the team. After an impressive 2024-25 season there, Stephenson signed a two-year contract at Liverpool last summer before it was agreed that he would return to Tannadice Park for another stint.
Reflecting on his time with The Tangerines, Stephenson told The Courier: “So much has progressed for me, in my game and in my character.
"I know I can lead on the pitch, which is something I didn’t know I could do at senior level when I first came up here.
"As a player, I think I’ve got so much better and adapted to the senior game. I don’t think there’s a side of my game that hasn’t improved in Scotland, and that was reflected by starting to build on my goals and assists, which is something I was keen to do.”
Stephenson encouraged other Liverpool youngsters to consider joining Dundee United if the opportunity arises.

“I’ll be honest, I’ve been pushing the Dundee United agenda out to a few young boys already,” Stephenson added.
“I can’t speak highly enough to anybody about United. More than that, I’ve been giving rave reviews to Scottish football in general to any of the boys who might not know much about it. Everything about it has been great for me.
“If any of the boys get a sniff of a move to United, I’ll drive them up there myself to get it done!”
It remains to be seen where Stephenson will be playing next season, but he won't be short of suitors, considering the reputation he has earned himself north of the border.
Stephenson's versatility is an asset, and he appeared as a center-back, a central midfielder, a right-back, and as a right midfielder this season.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to both Celtic and Rangers, while Bolton is also reported to be a long-term admirer of the youngster. “I’ve only got a year left on my contract at Liverpool,” Stephenson added.
“So, I think the biggest priority for me is that, in my next step, I find a permanent home. I’ve done three years on loan and have developed a lot. So, I think the next thing needs to be different.
“That could still be at Liverpool, depending on what they are thinking. It could be back up in Scotland or in England – I honestly don’t know the answer to that question. But I am keen to get something permanent.”
