Marcus Rashford’s Transfer Stance Revealed As Arsenal, Spurs And Villa All Weigh Up Moves For United Outcast

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s “dream is to stay” at Barcelona rather than join Arsenal, according to reports.

Barca do have an option to buy Rashford for €30m (£26m) following his season-long loan at the Camp Nou.

However, it is looking increasingly likely that he will return to Manchester following recent developments.

Gordon is set to take Rashford’s place

Barcelona are expected to complete the signing of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for €80m (£69m) over the coming days.

Rashford’s England teammate is undergoing a medical ahead of the move being finalised before of the World Cup.

Considering Gordon plays in the exact same position as Rashford, it seems very unlikely that Barca would sign the Man Utd star as well. The La Liga champions may consider another loan proposal, but you can’t see his parent club being open to such an arrangement.

Why are Arsenal interested?

Manager Mikel Arteta is keen on strengthening his options on the left flank, and Rashford would certainly be A LOT cheaper than the other targets under consideration.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola is someone that the club hold “genuine interest” in, but the feeling is that the France international would cost at least €100m (£86m).

An alternative, such as Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, is valued at around £80m, but he could end up going for more than that if there is competition for his signature.

The Gunners have multiple positions they want to strengthen this summer, so if the club do decide to devote more resources to reinforcing other areas, Rashford might be the economical solution earmarked for the front line.
