Liverpool will target a move for a new goalkeeper if they are unable to prevent Alisson from joining Juventus this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds have no intention of losing the veteran shot-stopper ahead of next season, but are already weighing up their options regarding a replacement in the event that he does depart.
Arne Slot and Co. are keen to keep all possibilities open in terms of their next gloveman, but sources say that they would hope to find someone with a stronger pedigree at the top level than current back-up Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The Georgian played more games than was planned at Anfield last term, but the club are in no doubt that they do not want him as their starting option whenever Alisson ultimately departs.
Liverpool are eyeing a big summer in the transfer market after a disappointing campaign, and their goalkeeping situation is causing plenty of headaches for them at the moment.

According to Fabrizio Romano, their attempt to sign him hinges on the offer of a long-term contract compared to the one that he is currently on at Liverpool.
Football Insider revealed on Thursday that Alisson doesn’t want to “force” an exit from Liverpool this summer if he can help it, but Slot and his staff have their own concerns regarding a move.
With the likes of Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah already moving on to new challenges in the coming months, there are concerns that the departure of another senior member of the squad could cause leadership issues.

The trio have all been a significant part of the project at Anfield in recent years, and Slot is worried that Alisson moving on could leave a void in the leadership group ahead of what could be another big summer of change.
