Chelsea are interested in Real Madrid pair Dean Huijsen and Aurelien Tchouameni, according to reports.

Writing in his Substack column, journalist Simon Phillips said that Real would be willing to offer players in talks over a deal for Enzo Fernandez, and the Blues already know who they would like in exchange.

Huijsen only joined Real from Bournemouth last summer for £50m. At the time, he did have the opportunity to make the switch to Stamford Bridge, but he was more interested in returning to Spain.

It is not known whether the appointment of Jose Mourinho as manager will affect his future, but persuading the player to leave the Bernabeu could prove difficult.

What are the chances of Chelsea signing Tchouameni?

There have been multiple reports claiming that Real would be willing to offload the France international, with a price tag of around £70m having been mentioned.

Manchester United are also said to be keen on Tchouameni, but like with Huijsen, there are doubts over whether the midfielder is interested in moving away from Real.

The arrival of Fernandez at the La Liga club would seriously limit his minutes, so that is an important factor to keep in mind.

What is the situation with Fernandez?

The 25-year-old wants to leave before the summer transfer window closes. He has become unhappy for multiple reasons. The club’s sacking of Enzo Maresca, the failure to qualify for the Champions League and an impasse in negotiations over a new contract have all contributed to his decision to move.

Fernandez is said to have interest from both Real and Manchester City, although it is felt that the former club would be his preferred destination.
