Chelsea should gamble as Arsenal make title-winner available for£20m

Arsenal have signed a lot of players from Chelsea recently, but maybe it is time for the Blues to snap up someone from their London rivals.

Last summer, Noni Madueke and Kepa Arrizabalaga left Chelsea for Arsenal in moves that have worked out well for the pair.

They were able to get their hands on the Premier League trophy this season, while their former club just about finished in the top half of the table.

To improve next term, Chelsea are going to adapt their transfer strategy a bit. With that in mind, Arsenal could have an ideal target for them.

Gabriel Jesus fits Chelsea’s new criteria for signings

Chelsea want their new signings to have experience, and Gabriel Jesus is obviously someone who ticks that box.

The Brazilian is 29 now and has made nearly 250 appearances in the Premier League. Across those games, he has scored 79 goals so could add a bit more firepower to Chelsea’s squad, which is desperately needed after the failure of Liam Delap.

Delap joined Chelsea last summer and was meant to be a reliable option up front, but the 23-year-old was only able to score one league goal during the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Ultimately, Jesus would be a vast upgrade on Delap and Marc Guiu, who have been the ones providing cover for Joao Pedro.

Jesus is available and will only cost £20m, according to The Athletic, which is the other reason why Chelsea should be considering him.

Gabriel Jesus’ record in England

It has not quite worked out for Jesus at Arsenal. More was expected of him after what he achieved at Manchester City, though injuries have impacted the Brazil international and that could make him a bit of a risk for Chelsea.

Still, his overall goal record since arriving in England is not bad. As per Transfermarkt, in 359 appearances for Arsenal and City, Jesus has scored 127 goals.

As well as being a goalscorer, the former Palmeiras man is also a forward who can link up play well. He could be the perfect alternative to Pedro next season.
