Chelsea can give Xabi Alonso £368.8m transfer kitty by selling 12 stars

Chelsea are expected to be very busy in terms of incomings and outgoings in the summer transfer window and today we focus on those that could be departing Stamford Bridge

It feels like we have said it is going to be extremely busy in every summer transfer window since BlueCo bought Chelsea four years ago.

That is definitely the case again this time around. As the window approaches, Chelsea are already working behind the scenes to help give incoming manager Xabi Alonso the best-possible squad to work with in the new season.

Alonso will be given more power than his predecessors when it comes to the club's transfer plans, with the Spaniard set to work alongside the sporting leadership team at Stamford Bridge to help build the squad. While there are several players expected to move to west London, there are also a load set to depart this summer.

Over on football.london earlier this week, our Chelsea correspondent Bobby Vincent wrote a substantial 'keep/sell/loan' piece regarding the Blues squad. In said article, Bobby decided 11 players should be sold, so we will look at how much money they could generate for Chelsea - based on Transfermarkt's transfer values - if they departed this summer. Also, Enzo Fernandez, for obvious reasons, has now been added to the list:

Enzo Fernandez - £120m

Now, this one isn't going off a Transfermarkt valuation - and that's because football.london learned on Wednesday afternoon that Chelsea will only sell Fernandez should an offer of £120million arrive at the table this summer. In an ideal world, the Blues would keep Fernandez - sources say that is still the preference.

However, Real Madrid's interest in the Argentina international is genuine. For Chelsea, there seems to be little to no point in keeping a player around who does not want to be there. Sources have told football.london that Fernandez has expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming months.

Alejandro Garnacho - £34.6m

Signed for £40m last summer, this would represent a £5.4m loss, which, in the grand scheme of things, doesn't seem too bad. The noises suggest Garnacho's time at Chelsea may be over already, less than a year since arriving from Manchester United.

It is no secret that Chelsea want to upgrade and buy a left-sided winger this summer. As well as this, Geovany Quenda is arriving from Sporting CP and is expected to be part of the first-team picture in Alonso's debut season at Stamford Bridge.

Liam Delap - £27.7m

It has been so tough for Delap to adapt to becoming Chelsea's No.9. The 23-year-old striker managed to score just two goals throughout the entirety of his debut campaign in west London.

There are murmurs Delap wants to stick around and fight for his place under Alonso. For Chelsea, though, there could be a temptation to cut their losses this summer.

Wesley Fofana - £24.2m

Given Chelsea signed Fofana for £75m almost four years ago, this would represent a huge loss. The Frenchman - for one reason or another - has never lived up to his potential since moving from Leicester City.

With two reds in the 2025/26 season, Fofana let his side down on the discipline front. Chelsea want to build a new culture behind the scenes, with players mature enough to respond in the right way to adversity. Fofana does not seem to fit that ideology.

Malo Gusto - £30.3m

The Frenchman splits opinion amongst the fan base. If Gusto stayed, it really wouldn't be the end of the world - he is a fine player, but he just lacks consistency.

Given he is a young France international, Chelsea could collect a healthy fee for Gusto. Depending on what happens with Josh Acheampong this summer

Filip Jorgensen - £12.9m

Jorgensen wants to leave Chelsea. The No.2 goalkeeper has made that clear with a face-to-face meeting with the club in recent days. The Dane wants to play more first-team football and Chelsea is not the place for him to do that.

Trying to retain value on a second-choice goalkeeper is never easy, so Chelsea might have to bite the bullet on this one.

Marc Cucurella - £43.3m

The Spaniard flirted with a departure during the March international break and Chelsea might be tempted to cash in on the left-back, who has just over two years left to run on his Stamford Bridge contract. Atletico Madrid are said to be interested in Cucurella, who has hinted he is keen on returning to Spain.

Tosin Adarabioyo - £15.5m

Tosin was brought in on a free transfer two years ago. While he has had his moments in a Chelsea shirt, this summer might be the best time for the two parties to go their separate ways.

Romeo Lavia - £21.6m

It has been nothing short of a nightmare ever since Lavia arrived at Stamford Bridge. Signed with big expectations, with Chelsea fending off competition from Liverpool, the Belgian midfielder's time in west London has been plagued by injuries. There might be a temptation from Chelsea's point of view to move on.

Benoit Badiashile - £15.5m

Badiashile has struggled when rarely called upon this season. At 25, he is a decent age and the best days of his career should still be in front of the French defender. Transfermarkt values him at just over £15m, but Chelsea should be aiming to get more than that.

Axel Disasi - £12.9m

Chelsea might actually be hoping to get more for Disasi now given the impressive form he showed at West Ham United towards the end of the season. Either way, it seems unlikely the 28-year-old defender will put on a Blues shirt again.

Marc Guiu - £10.3m

The 20-year-old striker might be loaned out, but if not, Chelsea could look to sell him. With Emmanuel Emegha arriving and potentially Nicolas Jackson returning, Guiu is set to fall even further down the pecking order under Alonso.
