The Magpies are at the centre of the world’s biggest transfer story right now as Anthony Gordon closes in on a move to La Liga champions Barcelona. Eddie Howe’s side are losing a top player in Gordon, but it is hoped the sale will unlock their own spending power.

To little surprise, Newcastle are being linked with a host of potential incomings. Here, we take a look at latest rumours doing the rounds:

Anthony Gordon arrives in Barcelona to finalise £69m move

Anthony Gordon has landed in Barcelona to finalise his £69.3million move from Newcastle United.

The 25-year-old flew from Newcastle at lunchtime on Thursday and arrived in Catalonia a few hours later. He will now undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a five-year contract.

A deal is expected to be announced before the weekend as Gordon brings an end to his three-and-a-half-year spell on Tyneside, where he scored 39 goals in 152 appearances.

Newcastle United consider move for Abde Ezzalzouli

On the subject of Barcelona, Newcastle are considering a move for their former winger, Abde Ezzalzouli, according to iNews.

Ezzalzouli left the Camp Nou to join Real Betis in 2023, and the Catalan giants are understood to retain a 20% sell-on clause.

The 24-year-old Moroccan international weighed in with 28 goal contributions this season, including 15 goals and 13 assists, and is said to have a £51m release clause.

Newcastle United ‘willing’ to pay £30m to sign Udinese midfielder

Atta started his career in France with Metz before joining Udinese permanently last summer after initially impressing on loan. Last season, the 23-year-old scored six goals and provided four assists in 32 appearances.

It’s claimed Fulham had a bid rejected for Atta in January. Now Newcastle, Brighton & Hove Albion have joined the race but Udinese want around £35m for Atta, £5m more than what the three Premier League are prepared to pay currently.
