Real Madrid ready swap offer to Chelsea for Enzo Fernandez

It is no secret that Enzo Fernandez could be looking to leave Chelsea this summer. The player has never ruled out the possibility when asked about it in public. And even his agent spoke about it not too long ago. The noise had faded away for a bit but has now cropped back up as the season is over, and the Blues have failed to qualify not just for the Champions League, but European football altogether.

So, it is somewhat understandable why Fernandez wants to leave. It might not just be about the contract situation. The World Cup winner could be keen to compete at the highest level as well.

Real Madrid are a club Fernandez has been linked with for years, going back to his time at Benfica. But so far, it has not materialised. And with Chelsea believed to be looking for a £120 million transfer fee to part ways with him, it will be difficult once again.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea could be offered players by Real Madrid as part of a potential deal Fernandez. Right now, Los Blancos do not have the financial flexibility to meet the Blues’ transfer demands through a straightforward cash deal.

Two Real Madrid players linked with Chelsea in swap deal for Fernandez

The report goes on to state that discussions have focused on the possibility of including players within a wider package to sign Fernandez. Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga have admirers at Chelsea.

Both Tchouameni and Camavinga could be on their way out as well, and for different reasons. So, could they end up at Chelsea in a deal that sees Fernandez head in the opposite direction.

Then again, would Chelsea even want someone like Tchouameni after the incident with Federico Valverde at Real Madrid? That feels like another headache to take on.

On the other hand, Camavinga has always been considered a top talent but has never met expectations. Does not that feel like the majority of the signings Chelsea have already made?

There other players that Xabi Alonso might prefer

It is worth remembering how Alonso’s spell at Real Madrid ended. So, he might have an idea on who he would want to work with and who he would like to avoid.

We are quite sure that Arda Guler is someone that Alonso continues to rate highly and shared a strong bond with. That being said, he is very similar to multiple players Chelsea already have.

Based on Chelsea’s needs, someone like Tchouameni would not be a bad signing. But how did he gel with Alonso at Real Madrid? And what about the dressing room implications signing him could have?

It just does not feel like the ideal move for Chelsea. But then again, you never know what the Blues might do when it comes to transfer windows. One can only hope Alonso gets to have his say on the matter and is the final voice when it comes to any decision, whether it be bringing in Tchouameni, Camavinga, Guler or somebody else.
