Yan Diomande has spoken out on the rumors around his future, and has namechecked Liverpool while admitting he "wants to play for a big club."

The RB Leipzig winger is a major target for the Reds this summer, who will of course be looking for a replacement for Mohamed Salah following his departure after nine years at Anfield.

Diomande has caught plenty of attention after a superb debut season in the Bundesliga, with the 19-year-old having scored 13 goals and added 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions. Liverpool is said to be leading the race for his signature, although that doesn’t come without its complications.

It has been widely reported that Diomande would set the Reds back at least $117 million, while Paris Saint-Germain is also said to have held talks with the teenager.

Harvey Elliott has been offered up as a potential makeweight in a player-plus-cash deal, but BILD has suggested Diomande’s price tage could be even higher than first expected, with a fee of $175M now being touted.

That has led the winger to cast doubt over a move this summer in a new interview with So Foot (via Sport Witness), but he still has his eyes on a move to a “big club” at some point.

“Yeah, I heard,” Diomande said when asked about the new reported price tag. “But I don’t know if it’s going to be okay for everyone to pay that.

“I’m not going to say Paris, Liverpool or Real (Madrid). But it would be a good idea to play for big clubs. Everyone has ambitions and every day you want to go higher.

“So, it was Leganes, today I’m a Leipzig player. I’m not going to hide my desires or my dreams. I want to play for a big club, of course.”

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.

Diomande will be in action during this summer’s World Cup for the Ivory Coast, which could lead to even more interest coming his way during the transfer window.

The prospect of him signing a new contract at Leipzig before leaving the club next year has also been touted, although Diomande is confident he will make the right decision on his future.

“It depends, huh. Football is my life, and my life is about taking risks,” he added.

“We’re alive, but we never know what might happen. I am African, I am a believer. I believe in God, I work. Whatever the club, I am ready to fight every day to win my place, to give my best. That’s what I’ve always done. That’s what I know how to do, me.”
