Tottenham will look to strengthen their attack.
Tottenham have had a striking problem along the recently concluded 2025/26 campaign, which saw the Lilywhites barely escape relegation. But now going into the offseason with Roberto De Zerbi at the helm, you’d expect the North Londoners to go through a major squad revamp, and among the list is a new #9 who can not only cause opponents’ defence problems but also score regular goals.
And among many linked with a move to N17 is a certain Karl Etta Eyong. His current employers, Levante, are open to selling him this summer, and they are said to have set a €25m (excluding bonuses) price for his signature. The Spanish club think that given the competition for him, they can generate that sort of money for the 22-year-old Cameroonian, especially given the outstanding form that he showed coming into the summer.
Karl Etta Eyong has a Barcelona preference
Though at the moment he is not going to make a decision on his next employers at least until he knows whether Barcelona are going to move for him or not as the Camp Nou side looks outwards for a Robert Lewandowski successor. And according to the latest from Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness), Tottenham and Everton are among the clubs waiting in the background and ready to capitalise if a door to Catalonia does not open for the Levante man.
German giants Stuttgart are also said to be in the picture for his signing. But they are not alone; joining the English duo of Spurs and Everton are Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal, with all of them having been credited with links in the first half of the season before Levante’s CEO ruled out a move in winter.
Tottenham do need Eyong at N17
For Tottenham, Eyong would sort of hit one of the most pressing needs at Hotspur Way given that many are expecting Dominic Solanke to be shown the door and Randal Kolo Muani to surely go back to PSG. You have Richarlison, but his future is kind of up in the air as well.
So the striker role surely needs real investment from the chiefs at N17, and that is where Eyong’s directness, his pressing bite, and the goal danger he showed in the first half of the season come into the picture. And they also match the idea De Zerbi wants at the front of his attack.
But any possible move depends on whether Barcelona do move for him or not.
