FootballTransfers runs through the latest Arsenal transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Julian Alvarez and Anthony Gordon.

Julian Alvarez update

Barcelona are preparing an “official” bid for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez as they look to bring the Argentina international to Camp Nou this summer.

That is according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano" href="https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2059923958288253312" target="_blank">Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Hansi Flick's side are set to submit their opening offer for Alvarez after positive talks with his agent and intermediaries.

Atletico Madrid have been reluctant to sanction a sale, but it’s understood that Alvarez has communicated his desire to leave the club this summer and Barcelona are regarded as his most likely next destination.

Arsenal are also interested in signing the ex-Manchester City forward, however a move to the Emirates Stadium appears unlikely as things stand.

Anthony Gordon to join Barcelona

Fellow Arsenal target Anthony Gordon will not be joining the Gunners this summer as he is on the verge of joining Barcelona for a transfer fee of €80 million.

The Blaugrana reached a full agreement with Newcastle United on Wednesday and he has now landed in Barcelona to undergo a medical and finalise the final details of the move.

Gordon will officially join the Spanish giants before linking up with his England team-mates for the World Cup, with Arsenal and Bayern Munich both missing out on his signature to Barcelona, who are set to splash the cash this summer.

Gabriel Jesus asking price

Gabriel Jesus has been linked with an Arsenal exit for months and the club are now willing to finalise a transfer if they receive an offer worth €23m (£20m), as per The Athletic" href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7312939/2026/05/27/arsenal-gabriel-jesus-valuation-news/" target="_blank">The Athletic.

The Brazilian has been at the Emirates Stadium since 2022, but he has endured a number of injury problems since his arrival and the club are keen to earn a transfer fee this summer rather than allow him to depart on a Bosman deal when his contract expires next year.

As a result, they have set their asking price at €23m, with a number of clubs in Brazil believed to be keeping close tabs on Jesus’ situation ahead of a potential summer swoop.

Arsenal confident in Jeremy Monga race

Arsenal are “increasingly confident” of signing Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga this summer, according to a report from TEAMtalk" href="https://www.teamtalk.com/arsenal/jeremy-monga-transfer-news-arsenal-confident-beating-man-utd-man-city" target="_blank">TEAMtalk.

The 16-year-old, who has made 37 senior appearances for the Foxes, has attracted significant transfer interest from a host of elite Premier League clubs, and both Manchester City and Manchester United are set to battle Arsenal for his signature when the summer window opens.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side are reportedly confident of finalising a deal for the teenager, with Monga expected to leave Leicester following their relegation to League One.
