How Chelsea plan to turn the Enzo Fernandez disaster into a masterclass

While the bombshell news of Enzo Fernandez demanding a summer exit has left Chelsea fans reeling, the club’s recruitment team might be about to pull off a masterstroke.

Enzo Fernandez has thrown Chelsea’s summer into absolute chaos by demanding a transfer away from Stamford Bridge. His desire to leave stems from intense frustration over Chelsea’s disappointing campaign under Liam Rosenior, as well as struggling to come to an agreement over a new deal.

Tensions already peaked earlier in the season when Fernandez was handed an internal two-match ban for publicly flirting with a move to Spain. Now, his agent, Javier Pastore, is trying to open talks with Real Madrid, the midfielder’s preferred destination over rival suitors Manchester City

However, while Enzo’s camp is pushing hard for a move, Chelsea have dug their heels in, slapping a massive, non-negotiable £120 million price tag on him.

Chelsea will benefit more from Enzo Fernandez leaving

Interestingly, Simon Phillips has reported that Chelsea could look to sign both Dean Huijsen and Aurelien Tchouameni this summer, with Madrid wanting Fernandez.

“We’ve also had confirmation that should Real Madrid make their move as expected, they could offer players.

“Chelsea have an interest in Dean Huijsen and Aurelien Tchouameni in particular, and would be open to discussing moves to sign either of those players.

“These would not be direct swap deals and would be separate – I call them unofficial swaps.”

Tchouameni and Huijsen would be brilliant business

Replacing a wantaway Enzo Fernandez with Dean Huijsen and Aurelien Tchouameni would represent a complete transformation of Chelsea’s spine.

While Fernandez offers elite ball progression, Tchouameni provides the defensive steel, tactical discipline, and physical dominance that the Blues’ midfield has desperately lacked.

Paired with Huijsen’s aerial presence, potential and composure in possession, Chelsea would instantly fix two critical defensive problem areas.

Alonso has heavily monitored Huijsen’s development and worked closely with Tchouameni in Madrid, so it could be something that materialises.
