Liverpool ‘going all out’ for player – Reds want to finalise signing in 13 days

Over the past few months, there’s been regular coverage of Liverpool‘s interest in RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande.

These reports were surfacing even before Mohamed Salah announced his decision to leave Anfield in March.

Salah’s exit forces Liverpool to sign a new right winger this summer and Diomande is one of their targets.

In January, the 19-year-old said he “wants to play for Liverpool” as he’s a huge fan of the Premier League side.

Last month, the Reds had a meeting with the winger’s representatives. Earlier this week, Sport Witness relayed news the Bundesliga side raised the price to €150m and Liverpool are one of four clubs that can afford to pay this fee.

On Thursday, the Ivory Coast international said he’s aware of the Anfield club’s interest.

He said: “Yeah, I heard. But I don’t know if it’s going to be okay for everyone to pay that,” he said regarding his apparent high asking price.”

“I’m not going to say Paris, Liverpool or Real [Madrid]. But it would be a good idea to play for big clubs. Everyone has ambitions and every day you want to go higher.”

Liverpool want quick signing

Sky Deutschland report Arne Slot’s side, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are in the running to sign Yan Diomande.

The Reds want to take lead and are ‘going all out’ to bring the attacker to Anfield. They want to finalise the signing before the World Cup kickoffs on June 11th.

There’s 13 days until the World Cup and it’s unclear whether that’s enough for Liverpool to get the deal over the line.

That won’t be easy because RB Leipzig intend to retain Diomande and extend his contract beyond 2030.

Our take: Reds want to avoid competition

Yan Diomande’s price and suitors would increase if he were to impress at the World Cup.

Arne Slot’s side are looking to avoid this and are now going all out to wrap up the signing quickly.

If more clubs were to join the battle, RB Leipzig are likely to raise the price, making it more complicated for Liverpool.

Transfermarkt value the attacker, who managed 13 goals and 10 assists this season, at €90m.
