Tottenham Hotspur is moving quickly in the transfer market having already agreed a deal to sign Andy Robertson.

Having stared relegation in the face for months, Spurs only guaranteed their top‑flight status with a nervy 1-0 win over Everton on the final day. Joao Palhinha’s scruffy first‑half strike ultimately condemning West Ham to the Championship.

Judging from their transfer business so early in the summer, it seems that they do not want to be in that position again heading into the 2026/27 season.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that the North London side have agreed to bring free agent Marcos Sensesi to the club, giving the transfer his signature “here we go”.

Widespread reports have linked Liverpool with a potential swoop for the Argentina international, but he now looks destined to join Roberto De Zerbi’s side, with Fabrizio Romano taking to X to report:

“Marcos Senesi to Tottenham, here we go! Deal in place after the verbal agreement reported since March. Four-year contract for Senesi who’s set to put pen to paper soon and join Tottenham Hotspur as free agent. Another one after Robertson. ”

Meanwhile at Anfield, Konate’s future has swung the other way, with multiple reports now claiming talks over an extension have broken down and that the 27‑year‑old is on course to leave as a free agent when his current deal expires on June 30.

The France international has been a regular when fit and is expected to attract heavyweight interest from across Europe, with Paris Saint‑Germain and Chelsea already mentioned among the clubs watching the situation closely.

Given Liverpool are therefore facing the prospect of losing a starting‑calibre centre‑back for nothing, Tottenham’s ability to pick up Senesi without a transfer fee – right after they themselves flirted with disaster – only begs the question of why the Anfield hierarchy have not even been in the conversation for a defender who ticks so many obvious boxes.
