West Ham are resigned to losing Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville, according to The Guardian reporter Jacob Steinberg.

The Hammers have hopes of keeping some of the current squad together, but posting on his X account, Steinberg said there was “no chance” of retaining Fernandes or Summerville this summer.

Fernandes, in particular, has been linked with a whole host of clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Newcastle and Aston Villa.

The 21-year-old has been one of the club’s best performers following his £42m switch from Southampton last year.

How much will Fernandes’s sale raise?

Prior to West Ham’s relegation, it was believed that the Irons may seek to sell the Portuguese international for around £80m.

However, speaking on The Athletic FC podcast on Monday, the site’s West Ham reporter Roshane Thomas said a fee between £50m and £60m is now regarded as more realistic.

With the London club needing to raise between £100m and £150m in player sales over the coming months, they may have to consider offers for players like Fernandes that they wouldn’t have accepted under normal circumstances.

What is the latest on Summerville’s future at West Ham?

There are definitely fewer teams circling the Dutchman. Roma, Marseille and Newcastle are thought to be among his suitors.

It is up for debate how much of a profit the club will make on a player they signed from Leeds for £25m in the summer of 2024.

Summerville doesn’t have the greatest injury record, and his one purple patch of good form during his two years at the London Stadium came between January and March this year.
