Arsenal took part in a light session in Budapest on Thursday morning

Arsenal completed a light training session at the Illovszky Rudolf Stadion in Budapest on Friday morning before the Champions League final.

The Gunners will be back out on the grass later in the day when they partake in their opening training session at the Puskas Arena on Friday evening.

Pictures of the first session have now gone online and interestingly both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were spotted with strapping on their leg.

Martineli had two lots of black strapping around his left calf while Saka had just a singular strap around his left calf, also.

Both participated in the training session and are expected to be fit to face PSG. It's not even clear if either player is suffering but it seems Arsenal's medical staff are taking no chances, anyway.

Jurrien Timber was also involved in a major boost for the Gunners. He came through a team training session earlier this week as he steps up his long-awaited recovery from a groin issue.

The right-back was recently named in Holland's World Cup squad but did not make the Arsenal squad last weekend when the Gunners won at Crystal Palace.

In the training pictures, Timber can be seen moving with the ball and he was also wearing cycling shorts to protect his groin and provide extra support.

Whether he can be thrown into a game of this magnitude, having not played since March 14, is another question all together.

Jurrien Timber has a chance of playing in the Champions League final

Arteta is a huge fan of the Dutchman and will seemingly give him every opportunity to recover but it seems a tall ask that he will play given he's not featured since injurying his groin against Everton.

It means Cristhian Mosquera could be tasked with nullifying the world's hottest winger in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He is naturally a centre-back but was signed partially because of his versatility and ability to play as a makeshfit full-back.

Arteta is set to provide an injury update on Timber shortly. If he is available, it means Arsenal have a full-strength squad at their disposal outside of Ben White, who damaged his MCL in the 1-0 win at West Ham earlier this month.

Noni Madueke is expected to be okay after suffering hamstring tightness at Crystal Palace last weekend.
