Arsenal face holders PSG in the Champions League final
History will be made in the 2026 Champions League final as Arsenal face holders Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest this evening. The Gunners, 20 years on from their only previous appearance on European club football's biggest stage, are bidding to win this trophy for the first time ever and thus complete an historic double after being crowned Premier League champions.
Arsenal arrived in Hungary on Thursday and Mikel Arteta spoke to the media 24 hours later, confirming a major fitness boost ahead of the showpiece. However, it is a formidable task that awaits his side inside the Puskas Arena as PSG boast, arguably, the best set of forwards in Europe currently and are at full strength.
After dismantling Inter Milan 5-0 in last season's showdown to claim their maiden European crown, PSG are first holders to reach the final since Real Madrid in 2016-17 and 2017-18, and are aiming to become just the second team to retain the trophy in the modern era.
