Roberto De Zerbi's Tottenham transfer overhaul is anticipated to begin with the dual signing of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.

The defensive pair are out of contract next month and will depart Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively, with Spurs poised to secure their services to bolster the experience and quality within De Zerbi's squad.

Left-back Robertson has claimed every major honour with Liverpool, while centre-back Senesi was awarded the Cherries' player of the season following their impressive campaign and sixth-placed finish in the Premier League. It promises to be a hectic summer around the World Cup after De Zerbi made it abundantly clear on Sunday following the victory that secured Tottenham's top-flight status that only half of his squad meet the required standard.

"From tonight we have to start to organise and build a new team. I don't think we have now to change too many players. We have 10, 11, 12 players good enough to stay. Good enough. Like players, especially like people, and then we have to complete the squad with the first level of players," he said.

"First level of players because we suffered too much. I suffered a lot but I think the fans, the club, the board, the players. They suffered too much. We are Tottenham and we can't suffer like this until the last second of the last game to stay up.

"And I will be stronger. I don't want to decide alone because football is a group - sporting director, scouting, CEO - but my target now is finished to stay up. My target is to start the pre-season with the team I have in my dream."

Robertson will head to the World Cup with Scotland and is not expected to complete his move until afterwards.

Speaking this week, he said: "It’s been an incredible nine-year journey. The farewell on Sunday was really emotional for me and my family.

"I suppose now my full focus is on Scotland, what life as a footballer is like and you just kind of move on and now you’ve got a massive tournament coming up with your country.

"My future will kind of take care of itself. I think, obviously, this week has been an emotional week, but it’s important that now I kind of draw a line under Liverpool and, probably more importantly, Liverpool draw a line under me.

"I know I’ve got a massive summer coming up. I’ve got a massive World Cup coming up and that’s my full focus on Scotland, my future will take care of itself.

"I don’t go into anything half-hearted; I go into everything with absolute 100 per cent, and that’s not going to change my career, and wherever that will be, we’ll be sorted."
