Player ‘starting to lean towards’ Liverpool move – Reds already begun negotiations

Liverpool have an advantage over Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande.

The winger left CD Leganés for the Bundesliga side in July 2025 and finished his debut season with 13 goals and 10 assists.

His performances have attracted interest from several clubs, including Liverpool, PSG and Barcelona.

Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain of Barca’s meeting with his agent but decide against making advances.

Earlier this week, the 19-year-old said he’s aware of the latest reports linking him to the Reds. He also maintains the dream of making a big move.

On Friday, we relayed news Liverpool are going all out and want to wrap up his signing before the World Cup.

Liverpool making progress

Sport now report Yan Diomande is evaluating several offers as he’s likely to change clubs this summer.

RB Leipzig would need at least €100m and this is the starting price to start negotiations for a potential deal.

The newspaper state it’s their own information that several clubs are keen on signing him, including Liverpool and PSG.

There’s also a possibility of the player staying at the German club next season. That is unlikely because he is ‘starting to lean towards’ an offer from the Merseyside club.

Liverpool are promising him an important role and a starting position, which wouldn’t be assured at PSG.

Mohamed Salah’s exit opens up space on the right wing and Diomande is the main target to replace the Egyptian.

With the attacker expressing his willingness to join Arne Slot’s side, they have already started negotiations with his agent. Liverpool have an advantage but Sport don’t rule out PSG making an offer.

The Paris club will face Arsenal in the Champions League final later today. After this clash, PSG advisor Luis Campos will focus on signing Diomande, admired by Luis Enrique.

Reds need to step up

To avoid a potential bidding war, Liverpool have to act quickly and make progress in their negotiations with both his agent and RB Leipzig.

Liverpool should capitalise on the advantage they have over signing Yan Diomande. His contract expires in 2030, and Transfermarkt value him at €90m.
