Inter Milan manager Christian Chivu is ‘absolutely crazy’ about Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, with the Italian side pushing hard to sign him.

Inter are more than keen to sign the ‘sharp witted Englishman’, with Christian Chivu ‘absolutely crazy’ about the midfielder. He thinks he is a ‘total’ player, and the squad doesn’t contain a player like him.
Inter Milan have been keen on the Liverpool midfielder for some time. Everyone expected a deal to be done in the January transfer window.
At that point, though, it was felt that the conditions weren’t ‘ripe’ as Liverpool proved to be rigid in negotiations. Six months later, everything seems to be less complicated.
Curtis Jones now has a year left on his deal at Liverpool and Arne Slot is offering no guarantees of playing time next season either.
Liverpool want €30m
As a result, he is ready to ‘enthusiastically embrace’ a new life in Italy and the Nerazzurri project to boot. He’s more interested in Inter than Galatasaray, who have also presented an offer.
The biggest issue is Liverpool’s asking price. They quoted Galatasaray €30m in recent conversations. Inter currently value Jones at around €20m. So, there is a big gap between the two, but it is not ‘unbridgeable’.
The key to a quick resolution could lie in the percentage of a future sale offered. Inter do need Liverpool to negotiate, though. The two parties are set to meet next week to kick off talks.
The Reds are open to a deal but don’t intend to lower the bar too much, particularly on an academy product. He represents pure profit when it comes to the financial side of things. but there is a deal there to be done and Inter absolutely want it done.
