Liverpool have sacked Arne Slot after two seasons in charge at Anfield.
A year on from guiding the Reds to the Premier League title, the Reds made the shock announcement on Saturday afternoon.
‘Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way’ a statement said.
‘He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation.’

Liverpool finished the season in fifth place, enough to qualify for next season’s Champions League but well short of meeting pre-season expectations on Merseyside.
Their haul of 60 points in 38 league games was their lowest total in a decade.
Over the course of the campaign in all competitions, Liverpool lost 12 of their league games – including home and away to arch-rivals Manchester United – while conceding 53 goals, their worst record of the Premier League era.
