£32m Chelsea player could easily be Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing for AC Milan

Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly in talks to become the next AC Milan manager, and will likely be looking at a number of players he had at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino is one of four former Blues bosses leading a country at the World Cup, with Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Carlo Ancelotti all there too.

It will likely not go down too well with the United States media that during a home World Cup, their manager has entered talks to take a job in Europe.

Mauricio Pochettino could try and bring Nicolas Jackson to AC Milan

Milan missed out on the Champions League at the hands of Cesc Fabregas‘ Como, and will need to be wise in the transfer market if they are to move back amongst the big boys in Europe.

When looking at current Chelsea players, one name who stands out as potentially available to sign is Nicolas Jackson, after his loan spell at Bayern Munich.

The German champions are not prepared to sign him permanently, leaving his situation in limbo after representing Senegal at the World Cup.

Reports have stated that Xabi Alonso is keen to take a look at the striker in pre-season, although he will only want to stay if he is given enough opportunities.

This will be difficult to promise Jackson, given Joao Pedro’s excellent first season and the club’s desire to keep hold of him.

Will anyone be lifting the famous old trophy?

Jackson loved playing under Pochettino

Arguably Jackson’s best season as a Chelsea player came during Pochettino’s time in charge of the club, where his relationship with Cole Palmer became a real weapon.

It was reported that Jackson was particularly upset when Chelsea decided to part ways with Pochettino, taking him a lot of time to repair his relationship with them.

He still enjoyed a strong season with Enzo Maresca in charge, although the Italian didn’t stand in the way of him departing in favour of Pedro and Liam Delap.

The latter’s poor first season at the club has given fresh hope to Jackson making a return, however Pochettino will surely be wanting to test Chelsea.
