Arne Slot has delivered a short statement after news of his Liverpool sacking was made public, highlighting the shared joy of a Premier League title.
In a lengthy statement, Liverpool announced their decision to part with Slot in pursuit of a change in trajectory after a directionless second season at the helm.
Slot, meanwhile, kept his sentiment very short in the immediate aftermath, with transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano disclosing his message across his YouTube channel and social media platforms.
“It’s been an amazing ride, I am so grateful that we were able to win the league last season,” was all the message said from the Dutchman.
Having only been told of his dismissal just hours before the news was made public, the expectation will be that a longer message is delivered in due course.

The timing of the club’s announcement, however, left a lot to be desired, even if the decision was the right one.
Slot helped give Liverpool supporters memories that will last a lifetime, and he was deserving of a send-off it was always in the owners’ minds ahead of the final day of the season.
Instead, he spent most of his time during what the traditional lap of appreciation sitting on the Liverpool bench and watching from afar.
Perhaps it was indicative of the disconnect that became too vast to repair, but the delayed decision denied supporters the opportunity to show appreciate in person, even if change was wanted and needed.
Slot will have his suitors moving forward, and Liverpool are now on the search for their next manager, with the now departed Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola the frontrunner.
