Xabi Alonso is ready to launch an ambitious raid on his former employers, identifying Real Madrid sensation Arda Guler as the player to elevate Chelsea’s frontline.
Despite not being at Real Madrid for long, Xabi Alonso proved to be a transformative figure for Arda Guler, helping unlock the young playmaker’s true potential.
Alonso instantly recognised Guler’s potential, integrating him as a vital piece of his setup, much like he had done previously with Florian Wirtz at Bayer Leverkusen.
Guler thrived under this trust, noting that he felt Alonso had handed him the keys to the Madrid attack.
Their highly successful six months together forged a powerful, lasting bond, which explains why Alonso is so eager to bring his former prodigy to Chelsea.

Xabi Alonso wants Arda Guler reunion at Chelsea
According to Marca, Arda Guler is one of Xabi Alonso’s long-term transfer targets at Chelsea, with the pair said to have remained in regular contact following the coach’s departure from Real Madrid.
Alonso views Guler as a player capable of elevating his squad and would welcome a reunion at Stamford Bridge.
Guler scored six goals and provided 14 assists this season, operating in attacking midfield, central midfield and on the wing for Los Blancos.
However, with Jose Mourinho arriving it remains to be seen as to what his situation is.

Arda Guler can lift the reliance on Cole Palmer
Arda Guler would bring a much-needed injection of creativity to Chelsea’s frontline, capable of operating as a fluid number ten or cutting inside from the right wing.
His ability to unlock low blocks with intricate through-balls and clinical finishing would provide a major upgrade to Chelsea’s often predictable attack.
And Cole Palmer benefits from all of this too. Far too often the Englishman is relied on as the only creative spark, which means that Chelsea falter when he’s not at the top of his game.
