The news coming out of Anfield this afternoon has shocked the footballing world.
After an extremely disappointing title defence, Arne Slot has parted ways with Liverpool with immediate effect.

Despite showing a determination to stick by him, the club eventually decided to take the club in a new direction after losing faith that Arne Slot could turn their fortunes around.
As a result, it brings an eventful two-year stint for Arne Slot at the helm to its conclusion.
His first campaign was topped off in historic style with a Premier League title, but the team fell apart during his first season, limping to a 5th place finish and their lowest points tally for over a decade.
The departure of Arne Slot may redirect the future of many others at the club.
Following the announcement it has been revealed that Sipke Hulshoff and Giovanni van Bronckhorst are also expected to follow Arne Slot out the exit door this summer.
But it is not only the backroom staff that will rearrange themselves, but maybe more players.
Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are already confirmed to be on their way out this summer, whilst Ibrahima Konate’s exit has all but been confirmed.
Another player’s future that is increasingly uncertain is that of Curtis Jones but Arne Slot’s dismissal may force him to rethink an exit.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the relationship with Jones and Slot wasn’t excellent and now that the Dutchman has departed his position, the English midfielder may try to impress his successor by staying at the club.
The pair’s strained relationship wasn’t due to personal issues, but rather that Curtis Jones knew that he was a permanent back-up option for Slot and that is something the midfielder didn’t like, especially as he approaches the prime years of his career.
As a result, he began to edge towards the exit door as the season progressed, with Inter Milan credited with a strong interest in him from as far back as January.
The reason a move hasn’t accelerated as much as it could’ve had is that the two club’s valuation of the player still sit some distance apart.
It remains to be seen whether Arne Slot’s departure could make Curtis Jones re-think his future but it very well could do.
