When asked by The Good, The Bad and the Football to name his favourite player from Chelsea, the former midfielder took no time to answer and named Palmer, an opinion co-host Nicky Butt agreed with.

Paul Merson is convinced Palmer could join Manchester United, relying on his boyhood admiration for the Reds.
Despite it making sense to some on paper, reports have stated there are currently no plans for the club to engage in business with their Premier League rivals.
In fact, it was claimed that Chelsea wouldn’t even enter conversations unless it was for a fee of around £140m, which would be a Premier League record.
The Blues will want to give Alonso the best possible start to life at Stamford Bridge, and this will certainly include keeping Palmer in his side.
