Leading commentator Ally McCoist has been served up a withering critique from Sir Alan Sugar over his proud Scottish accent.
The entreprenuer - famed for his role on the BBC's Apprentice – appeared to praise McCoist on social media but followed it up with a crass dig about being unable to understand the 63-year-old during the Champions League Final between PSG and Arsenal.
The Rangers icon has established himself a broadcasting behemoth en route to becoming TNT Sports' chief colour commentator in tandem with Darren Fletcher.
Sugar couldn't resist a barb aimed in the direction of McCoist, stating: "I am watching the CL final. I know Ally McCoist is a very experienced football person but there are times I can't understand a word he is saying."
But that verdict didn't go down well online with a stream of supporters racing to the defence of the beloved media personality.
McCoist was on duty for the Champions League showdown after already holding the microphone for Aston Villa and Crystal Palace's wins in the Europa and Conference League respectively.
