Liverpool has made the decision to fire head coach Arne Slot just a year after he helped the club to win the Premier League title.
The Dutchman enjoyed a dream start at Anfield after replacing Jurgen Klopp but this season has not gone to plan with Liverpool enduring a dismal title defense.
The Reds finished in fifth in the Premier League and that was initially expected to be enough to keep Slot in a job with Champions League football secured for next season.
But, following a season review, that has not been enough with Liverpool deciding to make a change in the dugout. Andoni Iraola is available after he left Bournemouth.
Liverpool opted not to make a swap during the season and was always going to keep Slot until the campaign came to an end. However, it has now made the ruthless decision, with talks regarding a successor underway.

Luis Enrique claim
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi says his head coach, Luis Enrique, is very happy in Paris, with some Liverpool fans having put forward the theory that he might fancy replacing Arne Slot.
"He's very, very special, Al-Khelaifi said on TNT Sports. "As a coach, human being, and as a person, he is fantastic. He's the best coach in the world. He has done amazing with the team.
"With a young team, you know the story. I would also like to thank the players of PSG. This is also for them. They all gave to this project.
"He's the best coach. I cannot answer the question (about what the future holds for Enrique), but I'm really confident, and it's all about the project. And he is the best one for the project."
