Sir Alex Ferguson has branded Arsenal "boring" after their Champions League Final defeat.
L'Equipe claims that the Man Utd legend texted PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi following his club's penalty shoot-out victory over the Gunners in Budapest.
Kai Havertz's early strike was cancelled out by Ousmane Dembele's second half spot kick, and Echebere Eze and Gabriel were the two players to miss from 12 yards in the shoot-out as Mikel Arteta's men missed out on a Double.
Ferguson, who won the competition twice with United, got in touch with Al-Khelaifi to pass on his congratulations, but also included a scathing assessment of Arsenal's approach to the final.
Arteta's side managed less than 25 per cent of possession across 120 minutes, with the goal being their only shot on target.
And Ferguson was far from impressed with what he saw from the Premier League champions.
His text read: “Nasser, this is Alex Ferguson. Well done, it was a tough night for you, but you played against a boring team that did nothing but defend. Enjoy your holidays, you deserve it.”
PSG Joao Neves also took a swipe at their opponents' style in the aftermath of the Ligue 1 giants' victory.
He said: "The emotion is there. It's the second time I've been a European champion. It's not even the victory itself that pleases me, but playing with such teammates, this staff, and this management.
“Coming here was the best decision I've ever made. I love everything here. We deserved it today, because PSG were the only team that wanted to play."
