For many, Kostas Tsimikas will be a forgotten man at Liverpool.

Often filling in expertly well throughout his time at the club in the absence of Andy Robertson, the Greek international has spent this season on loan at Serie A side AS Roma after realising his playing time would be significantly reduced after the arrival of Milos Kerkez.

His loan spell hasn’t gone the way he would’ve hoped and he has often been benched by Gian Piero Gasperini with the manager even using players out of position ahead of the Liverpool loanee.

Andy Robertson announced his departure from Liverpool this season and was given a fitting sendoff during the final Premier League game of the season against Brentford.

A player who will forever be an iconic player for the club, the Scottish left-back re-defined what it meant to be a full-back throughout nine incredible years with the Reds.

His departure from the Reds has worked out in Kostas Tsimikas’ favour. The Greek now has the opportunity to fight for his place under a new manager.

A fresh start, a fresh opportunity.

Ben Jacobs has now revealed that he intends to do just that.

In a new update posted onto his X account, Jacobs writes: “Kostas Tsimikas hopes to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool following the departure of Andy Robertson.”

“Liverpool had tried to bring Tsimikas back from his Roma loan in January, but the Italian side couldn’t find a replacement, resulting in Robertson remaining at Anfield until the end of the season.”

Kostas Tsimikas joined Liverpool in 2020 and has since made 115 appearances for the Reds.

His highlight in a Reds shirt came in the form of a penalty shoutout winning conversion in the 2022 FA Cup Final against Chelsea.
