History makers hit North London

Morning all.

Wow! What a day for all Arsenal fans. Four red Arsenal buses full of players from both the men and women’s team, coaches and staff and of course, Mikel Arteta. The man who has delivered success to The Arsenal once more.

I’ve no idea what the total number of fans who swamped north London was but reports suggest it a lot more than the expected 500,000. Three times more said the Metropolitan Police, the largest parade in Englands footballing history. Doesn’t that make you feel proud?

Declan Rice speaking on the Arsenal parade bus:

They [were] pointing and laughing. And what happened? They’re not laughing anymore.

I love this team.

I love this manager.

To see the joy we can give people is crazy.

Next year, we’re coming back for more.

Josh Kroenke was on the bus and rightly so, it’s he and his family who hired Mikel Arteta, believed in him through the tough times and supported him financially. Honestly, I’m not sure we could have better owners of our club. Josh has made it clear, we as a club will not stand still which is music to every Arsenal fans ears I’m sure. When Declan Rice said “we’re coming back for more”, I believe him.

This group of players is relatively young, certainly in footballing terms so there is no reason to not believe this is the beginning of better times. Going back to what Declan Rice said, he’s spot on.

Other football club fans were laughing at us, the constant “bottlers” jibe being the favourite. When Bournemouth beat us and then Man City soon after, anyone who had a voice on television or a column in the newspapers, predicted Man City would be too strong and Arsenal would cave. Not all I hasten to add because a few pundits braved their decision to back us, just not many. But we as a club stayed strong and in the end, the only club who bottled this seasons title challenge in the end was Man City.

It’s such a shame this is a World Cup year because our players need a rest. I think we all need a rest. lol For the first time in a long time, no, I’m not going to mention the numbers, we fans can enjoy the down time as the Premier League is ours. Our summer transfer window will not in my opinion, be as stressful as others because of the work the club did last year. The signings of Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincapie, Martin Zubimendi, Ebe Eze and Victor Gyokeres have been a great success. Admittedly the latter three have struggled a bit at certain times of the season but they’ve more than contributed to us achieving success. Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Kepa have in my opinion, big question marks over them but all have played their part at certain times over the last ten months.

This summer I hope Arsenal bring players in who can improve the attacking side of our game. Actually, not just improve it but make it dazzle. I’m pretty sure sacrifices will have to be made but as long as those coming in are better than those who leave, I’m sure we’ll all cope.

Thank you Mikel…
