Geovany Quenda makes promise to Chelsea fans about next season

Chelsea supporters will finally get to see Geovany Quenda play at Stamford Bridge in a couple of months’ time.

The winger officially joins Chelsea from Sporting this summer, and there is a lot of excitement surrounding his imminent arrival.

The 2025/26 season was a disastrous one for the Blues, but Quenda is remaining optimistic about the new campaign.

Geovany Quenda confident Chelsea will bounce back next season

Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League table, meaning Stamford Bridge will not even get to see Conference League football next term.

However, Quenda is confident that he and his new teammates are going to have a much better season.

Chelsea have been linked with both this summer.

In an interview with Sport TV, the 19-year-old said: “I was with them when I was injured. They have a good group, we’ll be able to turn things around.”

It will not be easy for Quenda to leave Sporting. Quenda recently admitted that he has had sleepless nights, finding it difficult to come to terms with departing a club that has done so much for him.

With their current set of wide players really disappointing this season, though, Chelsea fans are going to give Quenda a warm welcome.

Whether the Portuguese can help the team to bounce back in the 2026/27 campaign remains to be seen. Chelsea need to do a lot of work if they are to return to the top four and Champions League.

Xabi Alonso has to get his tactics on the training ground spot on and then transfer that to the pitch. For example, finding the right system for this group of Chelsea players.

The club also need to be active in the transfer window. Their squad still lacks experience and leaders. There are not enough goals coming from the wide men either.

Pedro Neto was the team’s highest-scoring out-and-out winger in the Premier League with just five goals. Estevao Willian only scored twice, while Alejandro Garnacho did even worse after netting just once.

Chelsea fans will not be sharing Quenda’s level of confidence right now.
