Shirt sales for Arsenal star increased by 350% over the weekend after what he did vs PSG

Shirt sales for Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes increased by 350 per cent following his penalty miss in Saturday’s Champions League final, according to The Athletic.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was looking to lead the Emirates Stadium club to glory but they suffered agonising defeat in Budapest after the Gunners star played the last spot-kick against Paris Saint-Germain.

Gabriel blasted his effort over the bar, which led to a 4-3 defeat following a 1-1 draw at the end of 120 minutes.

Arsenal fans showed their class with their response following his crucial miss, buying his shirt en masse.

The Brazilian became the top-selling name printed on Gunners jerseys over the weekend, and the sales of Gabriel’s shirt doubled those of any other shirt being sold at one point.

Arsenal returned to London the following day for their trophy parade, and more than a million fans were in attendance on the streets to celebrate with them.

Gabriel and others quickly put the pain behind them and were in high spirits on the parade.

Eberechi Eze also missed his spot kick, while David Raya saved the effort of Nuno Mendes afterwards to keep the Gunners in the game.

However, Gabriel’s miss proved crucial and Arsenal will now look to go one better next season.

Saturday’s final was their first in the elite European competition since 2006, and Arteta will be confident of winning their first-ever continental silverware sooner or later.

The North Londoners headed into the final unbeaten but were unable to get over the line in the end.

However, 2025-26 will still be regarded as a successful season for Arsenal following their first Premier League title in 22 years.
