Arsenal’s 2026/27 campaign is over, and Andrea Berta is subsequently making plans for next season, with a handful of players understood to have been put up for sale by the sporting director.
The Gunners enjoyed an outstanding season, winning the Premier League title and reaching the Champions League final. While defeat in Europe’s showpiece event put a dampener on the campaign for Mikel Arteta’s men, it was ultimately a hugely successful and uplifting year for the North London club.
However, Berta is not prepared to rest on his laurels and is eager to bolster Arteta’s squad in the upcoming summer window. Fabrizio Romano has revealed that three signings are on the cards, and further additions could be made possible by a number of departures.
Three Arsenal players are up for sale this summer
It’s natural that a team experiences something of a shake-up after winning a major honour. The squad needs to be kept fresh, and new energy needs to be introduced into the camp to keep people motivated.
If Arsenal play their cards right, they could be in for an era of dominance. Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool will all have new managers at the helm next season, meaning the Gunners’ stability should stand them in good stead to repeat their success from this term.
However, they need to add superstar forwards to their ranks to ensure they fulfil the potential their current iteration has. In order to do this, funds have to be raised, and squad space has to be made.
Thus, it’ll be no surprise for Arsenal supporters to hear that The Telegraph are reporting that Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri are up for sale this summer.
The Gunners are seemingly eager to rebuild the left-hand side of their attack. Both Martinelli and Trossard have just one year remaining on their contracts, and thus, it makes sense for Arsenal to cash in on both.
Meanwhile, despite Nwaneri being well regarded internally, there is a recognition that he may not be able to coexist with Max Dowman, Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze. The 19-year-old’s prospective exit would represent pure profit, and allow Arsenal to invest in less inflated areas of their squad.
Who might replace Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli?
TEAMtalk report that both Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are interested in signing Martinelli this summer. If the Gunners can extract a significant fee for the Brazilian, then they should be able to invest heavily in a new left-winger.
If both Martinelli and Trossard leave, then two could come through the doors at London Colney. 16-year-old Leicester City starlet Jeremy Monga could be one of those, given the volume of links between him and the Gunners.
