Fabrizio Romano has now dropped a key update on Arsenal's summer transfer plans, with Andrea Berta already working on new additions.
What Josh Kroenke has said about Arsenal's summer plans
The Gunners came agonisingly close to winning a Premier League and Champions League double, losing 4-3 to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties in Budapest, with the two sides unable to be separated after extra time.
As such, Mikel Arteta certainly doesn't need to ring the changes this summer, but Josh Kroenke has made it clear he is planning to improve the squad, in order to fend off the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool.
Kroenke said: “The business never stops. And so, right now there are other teams that are already trying to strengthen to come at us for next season. So we need to be aware of that.
“We’ve already had a few conversations about different areas that we think we can improve – both on and off the pitch. We are looking forward to getting that going this summer. It is going to be an interesting one because of the World Cup, but fortunately everybody is coming to the United States, so I don’t have to travel for once.”
Indeed, the World Cup is set to get underway on June 11th, when Mexico come up against South Africa at the Azteca Stadium, before the transfer window officially opens on June 15th, but Berta is already working to secure some new arrivals.
Fabrizio Romano reveals how many signings Arsenal should expect
In a recent update on X, Romano revealed the Gunners are planning to make a minimum of three additions to the squad in the summer, saying: "Arsenal have already started working and planning for summer signings. At least 3 signings are expected, could be even more based on exits.
"Top winger the priority; midfielder and right back also almost guaranteed. Strikers situation to follow."
Signing a new winger may be particularly important, as Gabriel Martinelli wants to leave this summer, amid interest from PSG, and a number of potential targets have been identified on the left flank.
After signing from Brentford last summer, Christian Norgaard failed to make an impact in the Premier League, featuring for just 101 minutes all season, which perhaps explains the interest in a midfielder, and talks have been held with Newcastle United regarding Sandro Tonali.

Signing a new right-back may also be important, with Ben White attracting interest, but there have been suggestions Arteta should choose to keep hold of the versatile defender, given that he proved his worth in the latter stages of the season, starting both legs of the Champions League semi-final.
