Liverpool block transfer:'Agreement in principle'for£66m LFC star'has already been reached'

Alisson Becker remains on Juventus’ summer shortlist despite recent claims in the media that the Brazilian will not be allowed to leave the club this summer.

Ibrahima Konate is set to leave the club when his contract expires on 30 June, joining Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson on the worryingly long list of senior players heading out the Anfield exit. Konate did not receive a farewell on the final day of the season, nor did Arne Slot before he was sacked.

In the final days of May, Sky Sports journalist Vinny O’Connor reported that Alisson is expected to stay at the club this summer, with Liverpool opting to trigger a clause that automatically renews his contract for an extra year.

Fabrizio Romano then reported a few days later that if Alisson is to leave Liverpool in 2026, it will have to be through the player’s own will.

He said: “So, at the moment, the deal is completely off with Juventus. It’s still early, it’s still the end of May, there are three months. I don’t know if Alisson can one day show up at the training ground and say, ‘I want to leave, let me go to Juventus’.”

Juventus not ready to accept Liverpool stance on Alisson’s future

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool may still lose Alisson to Juventus, who are apparently unready to admit defeat in their hunt to sign the Brazilian goalkeeper.

The report reads: “Negotiations had been brewing for months and seemed well underway, but in recent weeks they had come to a sudden halt due to Liverpool’s reluctance to give the Brazilian goalkeeper the green light. The coaching revolution on the banks of the Mersey, however, could once again overturn the prospect.

“An agreement in principle between Alisson and Juventus has already been reached for some time: a three-year contract worth between €4 and €5 million plus bonuses, with a clause (in favour of the club) for a further year’s renewal.

“Spalletti, after all, has known him since his time at Roma, when, after a year as Szczesny’s assistant, he decided to give him the starting role, helping establish him as one of the best players in the world.”
