Elsewhere, Apollon FC have confirmed the departure of former Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic. Markovic joined Apollon FC on an initial loan deal running until May 2026, with an option to extend for a further season.
The 32-year-old made 22 appearances during his spell in Cyprus, scoring twice and providing two assists as Apollon finished third in the Cypriot First Division.
A club statement read: “Apollon Football (Public) Ltd announces the completion of its cooperation with Lazar Markovic. The Serbian footballer made 22 appearances for our club, scoring two goals in all competitions.
“The Apollon Limassol family would like to thank Lazar Markovic for his contribution and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career.”
Versatile Serbian attacker Lazar Markovic joined Liverpool from Benfica in the summer of 2014, but struggled to establish himself on Merseyside despite making 34 appearances in his debut season, scoring three goals.
He was also deployed at times as a wing-back under Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool finished second in the Premier League the previous campaign.
After that, Markovic spent much of his time out on loan, including spells with Fenerbahce, Sporting CP, Hull City and RSC Anderlecht, before leaving Liverpool permanently to join Fulham FC in January 2019.
He began his career at FK Partizan Belgrade, where he won three league titles, before later returning to the club and moving on to stints with Gaziantep FK, Trabzonspor and Baniyas Club.
In the 2024/25 season, he recorded 31 appearances, seven goals, and six assists for Baniyas in the United Arab Emirates. At the international level, he earned 22 caps for Serbia, scoring three goals.
