Liverpool may have been handed a fresh setback in its pursuit of Yan Diomande, with the RB Leipzig winger claimed to have agreed to a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Diomande is one of the Reds’ primary targets, with a new winger high on the list for the summer following Mohamed Salah’s exit. The 19-year-old has caught the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs after a brilliant debut season in Germany, having scored 13 goals and added 10 assists in 36 appearances.
Previous reports had suggested that Liverpool was leading the way for the teenager’s signature, although new claims from France would seem to indicate that’s not the case.
According to Foot Mercato, Diomande has verbally agreed to a move to PSG. It’s said that the European champions have been waiting for the winger’s approval before making a move.
PSG, though, has “no intention of overpaying for any player,” believing that it already has a sufficiently talented squad. Diomande is widely reported to have been given a price tag of around $117 million.
That would come as a blow to Liverpool, although the Reds are still claimed to be in the running, with the report adding that Diomande is also tempted by the prospect of moving to Anfield. The same can’t be said for Bayern Munich, with the forward apparently “less enthusiastic” about joining the Bundesliga champions.

Leipzig is still in a strong position, with Diomande under contract until 2030, and it has been suggested that the club will try to tie him down to an improved deal.
Diomande, though, has dropped several hints that he could be tempted by a move this summer, having namechecked Liverpool in an interview with So Foot ahead of the World Cup, where he will be representing the Ivory Coast.
“I’m not going to say Paris, Liverpool or Real (Madrid),” Diomande said. “But it would be a good idea to play for big clubs. Everyone has ambitions and every day you want to go higher.

He added: “It depends, huh. Football is my life, and my life is about taking risks.
“We’re alive, but we never know what might happen. I am African, I am a believer. I believe in God, I work. Whatever the club, I am ready to fight every day to win my place, to give my best. That’s what I’ve always done. That’s what I know how to do, me.”
