REPORT: Danish‘Supertalent’Is Being‘Chased’By Newcastle United, Man City And Chelsea

Newcastle United are one of several teams pursuing the signature of Bodo/Glimt forward Mikkel Bro Hansen, according to reports in Denmark.

Tipsbladet claim that the “Danish supertalent” is being “chased” by the Magpies, Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus and Ajax.

Bro Hansen is currently playing for his country at the European Under-17 Championships, and scouts from numerous clubs have been keeping close tabs on his progress.

Denmark have played all three of their group games. Bro Hansen scored the opener in the 2-1 win over Montenegro, as well as captaining his team.

The teenager was powerless to do anything as his side were thrashed 4-0 in the second group match against France.

However, Bro Hansen did get on the scoresheet again on Monday, scoring the opener during the 3-3 draw versus Italy.

What else do Newcastle fans need to know about the player?

As demonstrated by his performances at the European Championships, Bro Hansen has been prolific at youth level, having scored 13 times in 16 caps for Denmark’s Under-17s.

Bro Hansen has begun to find his feet with his club too. He actually started his career at Aarhus, but he left on a free transfer to join Bodo/Glimt before he made his senior debut.

It didn’t take long for him to make his breakthrough, though. On his first appearance in the Norwegian Cup against Innstranda, Bro Hansen scored a hat-trick and provided an assist during an 8-0 win.

The striker did exactly the same thing in the following round against Junkeren. Bodo/Glimt also handed him his league debut, and he got off the mark in the Eliteserien after coming off the bench versus Kristiansund back in September.

Signing players like Bro Hansen is part of a transfer strategy

Sporting director Ross Wilson has been casting his eyes around Europe and the rest of the world for the brightest young talent.

Johan Martinez was signed from Independiente del Valle back in April, and it’s likely other promising players will follow suit. It remains to be seen, though, whether the Magpies will win the race for Bro Hansen.
