How the Senegal media reacted to Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson’s display vs USA

Following Senegal’s tight 3-2 defeat to the USA in Charlotte, the Senegalese media has been sharing their assessment of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.

Senegal’s recent World Cup warm-up match against the United States turned into a highly entertaining, high-scoring affair.

For Nicolas Jackson, the match serves as the first taste of a massive summer. The 24-year-old has officially been named in head coach Pape Thiaw’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he is expected to lead Senegal’s frontline.

Once his international duties in North America conclude, Jackson will return to Chelsea following a successful season-long loan spell at Bayern Munich, where he scored 11 goals, ready to stake his claim under new Blues boss Xabi Alonso.

Nicolas Jackson impressed against the United States

Senegalese website Galsenfoot gave Jackson his praise for his attacking involvement against the United States, despite missing a huge opportunity.

‘In attack, Nicolas Jackson also stood out. Involved in the action of Mane’s second goal, he confirms his importance in the offensive rotation and his ability to weigh on opposing defences.’

RTS specifically mentioned the part that Jackson played in Mane’s goal.

‘In the 52nd minute, Nicolas Jackson did an excellent job in the deep before setting up Sadio Mane.’
