‘Making the most attempts’ – Chelsea player pushing to leave

It is no secret that some players are trying to leave Chelsea this summer. The club have never really been successful since the BlueCo takeover. The Club World Cup win last year was the exception rather than the norm. And instead of building on that rare success, the Blues have simply taken a step or two back, finishing 10th in the Premier League and missing out on Europe altogether.

That is bad news in more ways than one. The financial impact it will have means that it will make it tougher for Xabi Alonso to rebuild the squad in the summer. Chelsea might even need to go some key players in order to fund fresh arrivals.

That is a position you never want to be in as a top club. But it is the reality of life at Chelsea. Unsurprisingly, players like Enzo Fernandez are looking to depart if rumours are accurate.

According to a report from Jose Felix Diaz in AS covering Real Madrid, the journalist writes that Fernandez is the one making the most attempts to become a new player for the club.

Fernandez is reportedly pushing to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid

It is no secret that Fernandez likes Madrid. He has openly stated that he wants to live there in the future and that the city reminds him of Buenos Aires.

The fact that these comments came when he was already being linked with a move to Real Madrid made the timing very interesting. He was even handed a two-game suspension by the club and then manager Liam Rosenior.

Since then, Fernandez has returned to the fold. The noise around a potential exit did fade away for a little while.

But now, it is back up as the season has ended and the summer window is around the corner. But could it really happen?

Could Fernandez really join Real Madrid this summer?

It might all come down to what Chelsea want. Let us not forget that Fernandez does have a contract with the club until the summer of 2032.

So, it is the Blues who hold most of the cards in this situation. And reports have suggested that they will look for a transfer fee in the region of £120 million to part ways.

Of course, that is a steep figure for any club, even Real Madrid. Los Blancos have not been exactly known to splash out that in recent years.

So, it remains to be seen if they will make an exception for Fernandez. Otherwise, he might have to continue in Chelsea blue next season.
