Arsenal eyeing deal for 'unbelievable' French striker, could be signed for £80m

Arsenal are weighing up a possible move for Bournemouth forward Junior Kroupi as they seek to bolster their forward department ahead of next season, according to BBC Sport.

The Gunners ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title last month, but there is more room for improvement after losing the Champions League final to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.

Arsenal need more quality in the final third to lift the prestigious European crown next term and defend their league title. BBC Sport claim that Arsenal will target a forward this summer.

Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is one of the main targets on their wishlist. Alongside him, the Gunners are also looking at Bournemouth wonderkid Kroupi and Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.

Kroupi, who is still only 19, had a fantastic debut season with the Cherries in the top-flight. He notched up 13 goals from just 1,683 minutes, operating from the centre-forward and attacking midfield roles.

It is reported that he could cost in excess of £80m this summer, similar to what Rogers would cost. It could take £120m to prise Alvarez away, but Barcelona are leading the race at the current point.

Arsenal should sign Kroupi and Rogers

Kroupi had a slow start to the 2025/26 season with the Cherries. He was a regular substitute but stepped up during the second half after Antoine Semenyo’s mid-season move to Manchester City.

The youngster played as a centre-forward or just behind Evanilson. He averaged only 51 minutes per game and caught the eye with his ability to step up for the Cherries in the big matches.

Kroupi scored in both matches against Arsenal and Manchester United. He also netted the crucial opening goal against Manchester City, which handed the Gunners a long-awaited league title.

The Frenchman, hailed as ‘unbelievable‘ by Tyler Adams, has exceptional finishing skills and had a shot-to-goal conversion rate of 25 percent. In our view, we won’t be surprised if Arsenal are prepared to make a huge outlay on the versatile ace.

However, we still believe the club should pursue a marquee winger alongside Kroupi. The left wing became a problematic position in the back end of last season as goals dried up for Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli. Both players could be sold during the next transfer window.

Rogers is comfortable operating as a left winger or in the number 10 role. He has the knack of cutting inside from the left flank to unleash shots on goal and does not shy away from long-range efforts.

The Englishman managed 26 goal involvements in the recent season, with some notable goals from outside the box. He would provide a different dimension to the club’s attack and would be an upgrade on the left wing.

We believe the club should spend most of their budget on signing Rogers and Kroupi. If the Gunners can’t afford both players. The priority should be placed on a left winger, and Rogers should be the number one target.
