According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Everton are currently leading the race to sign Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney ahead of the summer transfer window.
Hackney favours a move to Everton, with club-to-club talks set to follow.
Hackney, who has been described as being 'on another planet', was recently voted as Middlesbrough's player of the season after helping guide them to the Championship playoffs.
